Seventeen Graduate From County Fire Academy

CAPE MAY COUNTY HOUSE – The Cape May County Fire Academy held graduation exercises for Fire Fighter I candidates on March 12, 2010 at the Cape May County Public Safety Training Center.

Speakers at graduation included Senator Jeff Van Drew, Assemblymen Nelson Albano and Matt Milam, Freeholder Vice-Director Ralph E. Sheets Jr., Anthony Saduk, Director of the Cape May County Public Safety Training Center and Fire Marshal Al Beers.

Seventeen students graduated from the Fire Fighter I program after completing fourteen weeks of training at the Cape May County Fire Academy. Fire Fighter I students, volunteers sent by local fire departments, are mandated by the State of New Jersey to receive training to be a volunteer fire fighter. Training consists of ladders, ventilation, search and rescue, live burn, terrorism and more.

Volunteer Fire Company Dedicates New Home, New Engine

Architectural rendering of new fire house is located between Hand Avenue and Mechanic Street adjacent to the railroad tracks and two blocks south of Route 9 in downtown Court House.

 

COURT HOUSE — On Saturday, Oct. 3, Middle Township Volunteer Fire Co. #1 will dedicate its new fire station and unveil a new fire engine, a 2009 Pierce Arrow XT RUC Rescue Pumper.

The new fire house is located between Hand Avenue and Mechanic Street adjacent to the railroad tracks and two blocks south of Route 9 in downtown Court House.

Prior to the formal dedication and housing of the new fire engine, firefighters will conduct a parade starting at noon from the substation on Route 9 in Swainton. The parade route will proceed south on Route 9 to Hand Avenue and then west to the new fire station.
